Why can’t I ever do anything right for this Boss of mine? Oh Lord, Thank God It’s Friday! Sometimes the job you are in stifles your potential and cripples you mentally. You know what you are capable of but you are fresh out of college and a rookie as to how to navigate around this corporate web. Well, Office Therapy bids you to find your voice! You may have been a student, but you are NOT an ignorant child. Try these three steps 1. Research your boss: he/she is bossy for a reason and you need to know why. Research your boss’s accomplishments and corporate history to get a better sense of what are their interests and how they can become interested in you. 2. Read, knowledge is power; read strategically, read things that relate to your job so that you will ask less questions around the office and may can even offer your ‘two cents’ when solicited . Be confident: Speak, walk and DRESS confidently everyone recognizes and respects a confident person. #Hello
Exercise everyday and you’re still not fit; well in this case, you work every day and you’re still not rich! Slavery reincarnated ha? While we all feel like our monthly cheque is our well deserved reward for the hard labour, it is how you reward yourself that determines your wealth status. Shoot, Michael Kors got his, you need to get yours and besides, you won't be Forever 21. If you find yourself crawling breathlessly, broke and bewildered to ‘end a month’ so you can start all over again, try some of these instead: investments, join a partnership plan with a bank, save with a credit union, partner with a friend and start your own brand; SAVE , SAVE, SAVE. If you treat yourself at least once every 6 months then you can do it BIG; hotel anyone? If these don’t work for you , you need to double up on shifts, or find a new job. You can hustle hard or hustle smart! #Hello

Corporate you is at its peak but your personal life has hit the troughs? You leave at 5am and come in at 9pm, and soon good morning and good night is the only good that’s actually coming out of your relationships. Office Therapy says you can never become independent of the relationships you would have cultivated with your family, friends and especially that special someone. Face it, you need emotional stability to appear stable in any circumstance, especially after being consumed in your 9 to 5. Hearing “I love you” from someone you truly love is worth more than a million dollars; but the only way you can hear this more often is if you Take The Time Out to listen, love, laugh and live a little. Time Out Tuesdays’, who said you had to wait until Friday? #Hello

Office Therapy knows that most of us usually make a special effort to look great for Monday, whether its sporting your favourite pair of jeans, skirt, your best top, or your favourite set of jewels. So take a picture of your "Monday Look" and upload it on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/officetherapyblogger
Tomorrow we will be sporting your photo on the Office Therapy blog. Visit the blog at http://officetherapy.weebly.com/blog.html to see your photo. #Hello So it's the last 30 minutes before work ends and your boss suddenly issues an unexpected and unfair workload stamped with the time line 'today'. What the hell? More like tomorrow! Well, one way to avoid this is ensuring that after you've finished eating lunch midday and there is nothing much to do then, be sure to check in with your Boss and ask if there is anything he/she wants to get done at least 3 hours before it's time to leave. That way, you will have plenty of time to do what is required 'today' and get out of there on time; cause aint nobody got time for that, its TGIF #Hello
A few weeks ago you were praised for being 'fashion sensible' but this week Office Therapy encourages you to broaden your horizon.Whether you work at in a pantry, law firm or retail store, Office Therapy says, know what's on the front page! We all know reading is not a sport so its ok not to like it. However, at least know whats on the front page of your major newspapers so you can keep abreast with the economic climate. Truth is, you may just read that the company you are working with is undergoing an acquisition and will be closing down or is experiencing a financial blow and may have to lay off employees. You may never know, so be in the know! # HELLO
So where you are is not where you want to be. We get it! It is time for you to blaze the trail that will set you on your path to success. The unfortunate thing is this job is just for the pocket change and it does not fuel your ambitions. Well, Office Therapy says, STAY CALM. The country’s economic crisis does not allow for any brave leap right now. Keep making that change and don’t leave your job until you have found a better one. Keep making your entrepreneurial plans and try to align them with the job you have now. Sometimes your Boss is looking for that bright idea and a motivated staff to give that managerial position. Here are some ways you can stay motivated: keep talking to your friends about your plans so they can stay alive; write down your ideas as they come to mind and become inspired by your encounters on the job. If your Boss is someone you can talk to, tell him/her about your ambitions and how you plan to get there. He/she may know someone that can help you. Wisdom for Wednesday anyone? #Hello
He loves me or he loves me not? I hope NOT! Your Boss is not being so ‘bossy’ ha, in fact, he is way too nice. He marries your name with the most awkward endearments, always remembers to tell you how great you look and he even calls you outside of office hours. He disguises his flattery by complimenting you in the most professional tone ever. You are confused by the way he juxtaposes professionalism and sycophancy. Oblivion has been your day pass for some time now. Well lets put a stop to this madness. Here are three ways you can minimalize your contact with this person. Say NO to lunch dates. Take lunch before or after, if you can't avoid this, invite another employee along with you. He shouldnt mind, right? Also, avoid sharing any personal information, once you've started sharing be prepared to become even more upclose and personal; so NO, you are not sick, you are not having a bad day, you are stress free and need no rescuing. Share with Office Therapy other ways to navigate around this Boss, there are ladies out there who need our help. We know you want to keep that job so we will help you keep your sanity.#Hello
Well what do we have here? You have found yourself an office buddy! You share similar interests and he/she is probably within your age group. You talk about life, love and leisure. Sometimes he/she is your motivation to be at work. While its almost impossible to avoid feeding our hunger for social gratification, we should be cognizant of the risk associated with office friendships. Try restraining yourself from discussing personal things such as your partners, sex and especially your BOSS. These TMIs can backfire when things get sour and your office buddy chose his/her job over your friendship. Even though you spend majority of your day next to this buddy, keep your business out of those office conversations. Office therapy is not promoting antisocial behaviour, but don't go unleashing your demons and unveiling your secrets at work; and don't go boring money either. Be responsible for you! #Hello
